Week 1 - Day 1 - Activity 1

Hi!

I chose to participate in the Summer Learning Journey, SLJ.
For those that don't know what it is here is a brief explanation.
The SLJ is a learning thing that helps you in the holidays to prevent the summer slide.
The summer slide is something that means we lose lots of our
learning in the holidays when we can prevent most of that
by doing 3 blog posts a day for 4 weeks not including weekends.
That means there are 60 blog posts that we can do to help us.
Best of all this is a competition so each blog has a certain amount of points.
So at the end of the holidays our points are added up and we get prizes.

I decided to start of with the very very first activity.

Here is my work...

I decided to show this work on a google sheet and just add color.
I hope you agree with me.
What would you take?
Are you participating in the SLJ?
Thank you for reading my blog.
Feel free to comment how I could of improved this.
Until next time...
Bye!

  1. Hi Abby! My name is Mia from Yaldhurst Model School, you probably know me already. WOW! Amazing work on your first post Abby! Hopefully if you reply to me then I reply back and have a good bloggersation we can both gather some more points.

Hmm, all your answers seem to be related with taste and you don't seem very concerned that fresh fruit will probably rot away. Have you thought of dried or fermented things like pickles?

To improve this blog post, you instructions are going right off the blog page and are covered by some words on the side of your blog, you may need to fix that. If its a screenshot, you can click on the picture, then look down near the bottom, there will be some words that say, small, medium, large and X-large. If you click X-large it will make the image as big as it can without going off the screen.

    Anyways, Great work!
    Mia

    1. Hi Mia, thank you for commenting on my blog. I am a very picky eater so I probably wouldn't survive a long journey. So let's just hope that it's not a long one. I never really thought about these things before doing this blog post so I had no ideas. I didn't check my blog once I posted it so that's why it was like that. But I fixed it now but the writing is really small. Thank you for your feedback.
      Kind regards,
      Abby.

    2. Hi Abby! It's Mia here. Thanks for replying to my blog. Yes, the writing is small, but we can click on it and then we can read it better anyways. You can also just copy the words onto the blog, that way it's even more easier to read.

      Thanks!
      Mia

  2. Hi there Abby,

Well done on completing your first Summer Learning Journey post and it would seem definitely not your last! You are going to keep me very busy over the next few weeks I can see.

I think the table you created to list what food you would take is great. It is made clear with the colour coding and I like that you have put in why you would take specific items.

It's great to see you have chosen to take a lot of healthy foods. What fruit is your favourite out of the ones you have listed?

I would probably take some canned foods as well as nuts and dried fruits as they give you a lot of energy and don't need to be stored in a fridge.

Until next time, happy blogging :)

    1. Hi Emma, Thank you for commenting on my blog. I'm glad that you like how I set out my answers. I think my favourite fruit out of those ones would be strawberries even though they wouldn't last long. Canned fruits would be a good idea, I didn't think about that.
How long do you think you would last on the boat?

      Kind regards,
      Abby.

    2. Hi Abby,

Yum, strawberries are delicious. My son loves them too.
To be honest, I think I would be ready to get off in a about a week as I get vertigo when I am on a boat for too long and it makes me feel a bit sick.
Have you heard of vertigo before?

      Keep up the great work!
      Emma

    3. Hi Emma. No I haven't heard of vertigo before. But I have been on a boat for around 2 weeks before and I was fine so I think I could last for a while without getting sick.

      What is vertigo?

      Kind regards,
      Abby.
