Day 4 - Activity 1

Hi!
Today Emma from the Summer Learning Journey came in to explain that we
can do a practice blog out of the teaser week activities.
So everyone in the class did one today.
Firstly we had to make a folder for all our SLJ work in.
Next we looked at the activities and chose our one.
I chose to do the activity where we are principal for a week.
What we have to do is think of 5 things that we want to do.
I decided to show this on a google drawing.
I hope you enjoy it.
Here it is...

That was my work.
I hope you liked it.
I will explain More now.
For more time for art its because we don't do it often.
I chose the second one since the school pool is always cold.
Class pets because they are fun and teach responsibility.
Creative trips are like things you wouldn't expect to happen as a trip.

For the fifth one I chose that because the more
things we do we get new experiences from.

That's all for today.
Until next time...
Bye!

  1. Kia ora Abby!

My name is Mikey. I'm a member of the Summer Learning Journey team this year and I'll be commenting on some of your wonderful blog posts over the summer. I'm so pleased that you've had a go at a teaser week activity. It's good to get some practice in before the programme officially begins on Monday.

You've come up it some really great ideas here Abby. I like that you've explained why you chose these particular things. I think having a class pet is such a good idea. What pet would you choose for your class? How would you organise care for it on the weekends and in the holidays?

Congratulations on completing your first teaser task. Keep up the amazing blogging and have an awesome weekend. I look forward to seeing more Summer Learning Journey posts from you in the coming weeks. :)

    Bye for now,

    Mikey

    1. Hi, thank you for commenting on my teaser week activity. For my class pet I would choose a rat because when I was a year 4 we had two rats that we looked after. For the care in the weekends I would send out a letter asking for volunteers to look after it.
      Kind regards,
      Abby.

    2. Hi Abby,

You're very welcome! I'm glad you've taken the time to read and respond to my comment - thank you. :)

Oh, that's a good choice - you'll be an expert in rat care! :) What would you name your class rat?

Sending out a notice for volunteers is a great idea. I'm sure lots of people would be willing to help. At the school I work at, we have a school cat who we take turns feeding in the weekends and during the holidays. It was my turn to pop into school and feed her this morning. :)

      Bye for now,

      Mikey
