NYLD... What could it mean?

 Hi!
Last week on Friday was NYLD.

National Young Leaders Day.

It was so much fun and we learnt lots about leadership and there were lots of inspiring speakers.

Here is a slide that has some of the things I remember from this experience and a couple of photos too.

Enjoy...

That was the slide.
I hope you learnt something from it as well.
If you ever get the opportunity to go then DEFINITELY take it.
There are also some fun games that you can take part in.
Have you ever gone to NYLD?
If you have what is one of the main things you learnt?
Would you choose to go there?
Its super fun and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!
(I got the Ninja turtles and Mario's autographs!)
Until next time...
Bye!

Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple... ADJECTIVES

 Hi!

This week one of our FLOW Fundamentals were adjectives in grammar.

(Check out my last blog to find out about FLOW Fundamentals.)

So I decided to make a blog post to share about what adjectives are and some examples of them. In fact you probably use them all the time in your writing but don't even know it! I hope that this biteable helps you learn what an adjective is or that you learn something new.

So what is an adjective? Watch this biteable to find out...

Adjectives on Biteable.

So did you already know what an adjective is, or did you just find out?

I think that after this week remembering adjectives will be really easy. Well did you know that colours are adjectives? I didn't so I am glad that I checked what an adjective is again otherwise I would completely forget.

This was really fun to make since I never really post about grammer or adjectives.

Have you learnt about adjectives? Did the video teach you something?

Until next time... Bye!

What can you do with prime numbers?

 Hi!

It's been the first week back at school and we are doing lots. One of the things we are doing this term is to make a poster displaying all the things on this list:

Times table of the week, Prime number of the week, Grammar focus, Word of the week, Skill of the week, Value of the week, HERO Focus, Here's what's cool now Focus, Country of the week, Song of the week, Blog of the week.

Miss Rennell chose all of those and made a simple poster for week 1. It looks like this:

Then the classes task is to do this using this information, but make it look unique.
Everyone did this by hand, and I found this really fun to do.
The one thing we couldn't do was copy exactly what it says on the original.
Here is the one I did...

It's hard to read but it just says what the original says.
Overall I found this really fun to do and I'm excited to do it every week.
Since once I see other peoples finished ones I will have more ideas on what I can for next week.
Do you enjoy doing things by hand or would you rather make it digital?
Did you know 7x3= 21? This is the timetable that the whole of Rimu will know forever.
Would you enjoy doing this?

Until next time...
Bye!

How do you... read a recipe?

 Hi!

This week is the first week of term 4.

This term we have home learning. So we have a list of things we can choose to blog about, then do it. Except the list is different this term, we are blogging about old... new skills.

This week I decided to choose: How to read a recipe. If you don't know how then this DLO is for you. But if you do know how you could suggest other important things you need to know to read a recipe.

Well, here is the DLO on how you read a recipe...

That was it, I hope it taught you something new.
I definitely learnt some new things while making it.
It is also a very good skill to be able to read a recipe, properly.
Comment if you have any other questions or if you have another tip.

Don't forget...
The slides that say important, are very important!

Did you learn something new?
What's your favourite thing to cook?
Did you know about the comma thing?
I didn't but I found out from this: LINK.

Until next time...
Bye!
