Old cats, new cats, lots of cats...

Hi!
Welcome to my first class blog... at home.

So because of the lock down we have been doing our work at home.
Everyday we have to do a long write based off a picture.
So I decided that I would share my first one that I did on Wednesday.
Here's the picture...

This is the LINK to where I got the photo.

Now here is my writing.

The fragile cloaks and poofy dresses cover the fluffy fur of the cats. Their claws have
been freshly cut and they are ready for the show. Pearl necklaces adorn female cats
while bow ties are fastened for the males. They prepare to dance their special waltz but
then they are stopped. The lights dim. The music comes to a grinding halt. Cats are
scattering off stage. Avoiding the big hands that are coming down to grasp their waists.
As loud as a stampede they screech and claw the hands. But it is no use, the long
fingers could crush them all within seconds.

The shop maker quickly grabbed the cats and placed them inside his workshop. He is
merely making new outfits but the cats do not understand. They try to rush away but
are blocked. A long needle goes in and out of fresh frocks. Making little buttons for the
suits and intricate patterns for the dresses. Gold thread shimmers and silver shines.

The calming workshop is filled with mini cats that are waiting for eyes or a nose or

even for fur. The old man quickly grabs the youngest pair of the scrambling bunch and
wraps them in some soft paper then they get placed in a box. The lid is clamped on and
a purple ribbon is tied to keep the lid there.

They hear the screams of the young kittens as they get carried off to the front room to
be sold off to some young kids. This is every cat in the workshop's worst nightmare.
Being gifted to the nasty, sticky little hands of children. Everyone is frozen from fear waiting for what the man would do next. Another kitten is grabbed and propped up on its
feet. A lovely red gown is placed over the babys head and a gold crown is waiting to go
on the cat's head. This is normal by now, they all get brought in to the workshop to
change outfits then get put back on display to be brought.

A handsome cat with ginger fur is dressed with the finest navy suit. With shining
bronze buttons and a bright bow tie to finish the look. He is one that hates this place
the most. Every day he plots to escape, but with stiff joints and clipped claws it
becomes almost impossible. The cats get put back on display and people constantly
pass by the window staring in on the little cats. This week they are set up for a play,
they are all paired up and got seated in soft seats to make it seem that they are
watching the play that is outside the window.

Then an old lady with a plain flowing dress walks into the store. The bell jingles with her
arrival. She glides over to the counter and asks for the cat she wants. With a nod the
man strides over to the cats and picks up the navy suited cat. With a few movements
he is buried under the paper and is inside his own box with a navy ribbon. When the
lady left with the box she opened it with gentle hands. Then grabbed his left hand and
let him wave goodbye to his friends and family. He finally found the perfect home.

I hope you liked it, I think that it was a good story.
What do you think of when you see the picture?
What did you like best about the story?
Do you like cats?
Comment what you think and I will try to reply.
Kind regards,
Abby.

Trampoline... alicorn...?

Hi!
This week for my home learning blog I chose the music activity.
Here's what I have to do for it.

I don't have a favorite song so I just chose one that I listen to sometimes but it isn't my favourite.
Also since songs are just the chorus and some other verses I chose to just re write the chorus.
This song is by SHAED, it is called trampoline.
Here is the original...

I've been havin' dreams, jumpin' on a trampoline, Flippin' in the air
I never land, just float there, as I'm looking up
Suddenly the sky erupts, flames alight the trees
Spread to fallin' leaves, now they're right upon me.

Now for my version called alicorn.

I've been having dreams, riding a alicorn, Flying in the air
I never landing, just rising there, as I look around
Suddenly the earth erupts, flames swallow the seas
Following the unicorn beneath me, now they're right ahead of me.

That was my version, some parts stayed the same some parts didn't.
If you don't know a alicorn is a horse with a unicorn horn and wings.
I hope you enjoyed this blog post.
What's your favourite song?
Would you of done anything differently?
How could I of made this better?
Until next time...
Bye!

Chromebooks? Hmmm...

Hello!
So far every Tuesday we have been doing cybersmart.
We have been taught by Miss Morgan on how well do we know our chromebooks.
I found this a fun thing to do and a good refresher.
As part of it we had to blog it, so here it is.
I hope you enjoy.

That was my slide, I hope you liked it.
Did you know this?
What did you learn?
Do you know anything else?
Comment what you think about our learning.
Until next time...

What do you do when.....

Hi!
Welcome back to my blog.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today I will share a animation that I made in our cybersmart lesson.
First we had to choose a partner so I chose Bella.
After that we went to the Uru manuka site and made a copy of a doc.
Then we chose something from the kawa of care breakdown.
Next we planned out the animation.
We were going to do the animation about 2 weeks later but
sadly Bella changed schools before we could do the animation.
So this is my animation but we planned it together.
I didn't have heaps of time for this but I think it got the point across.
Here it is....

That was it, I hope it explained that if your chromebook isn't working to tell a adult.
Then it can quickly be fixed so you can go back to what you want to do.
Did this help you?
What would you do in this situation?
Do you sometimes have problems like these?
Well I think that this part of the kawa of care is important so everyone knows how to correctly handle their chromebook.
Until next time...
Bye!

Too many windows...

Hello!
This week for my home learning blog I chose to do the number activity:

That's what I have to do.
I didn't know if we were counting the full windows or the panes of glass but I did windows.
So now I have made a Canva to show off my work...

That was my Canva.
I hope you liked it and thought my math was correct.
So this shows that my final answer was 104.
I think that this was a fun and interesting activity to do so I could test my memory for the windows.
How many windows do you have?
Was I correct?
Do you enjoy looking out windows?
Until next time...
Bye!

We've been... BRAINWASHED!!!!

Hi!
Today I am blogging about our past two lunch times.
Due to the weather we have been eating lunch inside.
So for entertainment we have been watching the inbestigators, no that is not a spelling mistake.
It has been teaching us lots of things a bit like brainwashing.
Here is a drawing of what we have been learning...

That's what I think we have been learning throughout the show.
Also I think that it helps us multi task because
we have to listen while eating our food.
I think it is interesting to watch something while
we eat to make wet days less boring.
Do you have anything you watch that improves some qualities?
If yes what is it called? Would you try something like this?
Until next time...
Bye!

NO.1 ... What?

Hi!
Welcome back to my blog.
Today I chose to blog about the number one thing I have learnt so far this year.
For this I chose to use a different site called Canva.
I have used this before but usually don't use it for blogs.
So here it is...

That was the Canva.
I hope that you enjoyed it.
I found that it was really fun to use and super easy to make a blog post with.
What have you learnt so far?
What's your favourite thing that you have learnt this year?
What's your favourite thing to use for presenting?
Until next time...
Bye!

ABCDEFGHI Just Kidding...

Hi!
This week for my homework blog I chose to do the word activity.
Here it is...

So for this I chose to make a biteable.
I was going to do something else but decided that would take too long.
All these animals exist but I was trying to use animals lots of people haven't thought about.
So I looked up some of them.
Here's the biteable...

Here are the ones I googled:

I hope you enjoyed the really long biteable.
Did you learn about any new animals?
What animals would you have done?
Are one of the animals on the biteable your favourite?
Comment what you think.
Until next time...
Bye!

Wacky races?

Hi!
Last week on Thursday the year sixes were away so that left the year 7&8s.
For the whole day we worked through this booklet of the 7 habits.
Here is a Biteable of the 7 Habits:

These are the habits that I will be talking about on my blog later on in the year.
But for today I will just talk about the think win win habit.

This is the activity that we did wacky races with.
We were all on the little field and were faced with a range of objects.
We got in partners and one of us went and
chose a object, I was with Nikita and she went and chose a ball.
Then we had to try to hold the ball together in weird ways to a tree and back.
For example some were: Knees to knees. Finger to finger. Head to head. Palm to palm.
I found that the knees to knees one was the hardest
because we couldn't use anything else to hold the ball.
It taught us to use teamwork and talk to figure out how to do it.
Comment what you think about this weird way of team building.
Would you try it? Who would you do it with? Do you think you could do it?
Until next time...
Bye!
